01Our commitment
Sanika Elevation Agency is committed to making sanikaelevationagency.com, our subpages, and the work we ship to clients usable by people of all abilities. We design and code to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our internal floor.
We treat accessibility as part of craft, not as a checklist done at the end. Every page we ship, for ourselves or a client, is built around semantic HTML, keyboard navigability, sufficient contrast, and respect for the visitor's motion and theme preferences.
02Conformance status
This website is designed to be partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means most parts of the content fully conform to the standard, but a small number of decorative or experimental elements may not.
We test new pages with: automated tooling (axe core, Lighthouse), manual keyboard testing, screen reader spot checks (VoiceOver, NVDA), and contrast verification of every color pair in our type system.
03Measures we take
- Semantic HTML landmarks:
<header>,<nav>,<main>,<article>,<section>,<footer>. - Heading order is preserved on every page (one
<h1>, then descending levels). - All interactive elements are real
<a>or<button>elements, no clickable<div>s. - Color contrast: body text at 7:1+, headings at 18:1+, accent on dark at 6:1+. Mono micro labels were raised from a borderline 3.16:1 to ~5.3:1 to clear AA cleanly.
- A visible focus ring on every focusable element, in our brand colors rather than the browser default.
- A "Skip to content" link as the first focusable element on every page.
- Form labels are programmatically associated, required fields are flagged, and form errors are announced where applicable.
- All decorative images are marked
aria hidden="true"or have emptyalt="". Informational images carry meaningful alt text. - Animations honor
prefers reduced motion: reduce, the dispatch marquee, hero parallax, scroll reveals, and live pulse all stop when that signal is set. - The site is responsive from 320 px up and tested at common breakpoints.
04Features built in
Keyboard navigation
Every page can be operated with the keyboard alone: Tab to advance, Shift+Tab back, Enter or Space to activate, Escape to close any open accordion or menu. The "Skip to content" link is the first stop on every page.
Reduced motion
If your OS or browser is set to "reduce motion," we disable: the scrolling dispatch ticker, scroll reveal fades, and any hover driven motion. Content remains visible and usable.
Zoom & resize
Content is responsive and reflows up to 200% zoom without horizontal scroll on standard viewports. Tap targets are 44×44 px minimum on touch interfaces.
05Known limitations
We track known issues openly so you know what we know.
- Third party content (Google Fonts, Web3Forms rendered confirmation pages, Vercel error pages) is outside our direct control. We try to choose vendors with good accessibility but cannot guarantee theirs.
06Client work
When we build a landing page or marketing asset for a client, we apply the same accessibility floor: semantic HTML, AA contrast, keyboard nav, alt text on imagery, reduced motion respect. If a client's brand asks for choices that would push a page below AA (e.g. very low contrast type for stylistic reasons), we flag it and recommend an alternative.
07Assistive technology compatibility
The site is tested to work with the latest stable versions of:
- VoiceOver (macOS, iOS)
- NVDA (Windows)
- JAWS (Windows), partial
- TalkBack (Android), partial
- Latest Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge browsers with built in zoom and high contrast modes
If you use a tool we haven't listed and it doesn't work for you, we want to know.
08Feedback & reporting
If something doesn't work, email us. We treat accessibility reports as priority bugs and aim to acknowledge within one business day and ship a fix or workaround within five.
When reporting an issue, please include: the page URL, what you were trying to do, what happened (or didn't), the assistive technology and browser you were using, and your OS. The more we can reproduce, the faster we can fix.
